Search helps you find records faster on list pages such as Products, Titles, Formats, and other operations lists. Flip uses a system search index with categorized fields, so matching is more flexible than exact text alone. Common wording is normalized — for example and and & are treated as equivalent — so you do not need the exact stored phrase to get a hit.

What search can find

You can search for things like:
  • part of a title, name, or series
  • a product or title code
  • an ISBN
  • other words already visible on the list
You do not need to type the full value.
1

Open a list page

Go to a list such as Products or Titles.
2

Use the search box

Click the search field in the page header and type a word, name, code, or number.
3

Review results

The list updates with matching records after a short pause while you type.
Start with one clear word. Add more words if you get too many results. Use a code or ISBN when you want a more exact match.

Search with filters

Filters narrow the list. When you use search and filters together, results must match both. Example:
  • filter to one publisher
  • search for a title word
  • see only records that match your search inside that publisher
If you do not see the record you expect, clear one filter and search again.

Search with sorting

Sorting changes the order of results. It does not change what matches. Example:
  • search for a product
  • sort by publication date
  • see the same matching products in a different order
When no column sort is applied, product search results default to title ascending.

Simple tips

  • Prefer one clear word first, then refine
  • Search by code or ISBN for a tighter match
  • Clear old filters if results look too narrow
  • Clear the search box to return to the full list
